Nimbl, the NBCUniversal employee app launched in 2020, embodies the company's innovative mobile business lifestyle. The vision was to reduce the enterprise footprint by providing a global solution that supports daily employee success and action. We achieved our goal—​​​​​​​a centralized solution to deliver personalized crucial information and action to users in a unified, interface and management system, while accelerating the release of micro applications protected by cyber policies.
Used by over 40,000 employees, it achieved a 64% adoption rate within the first few months. Several legacy apps were integrated into Nimbl, resulting in significant cost savings for NBCUniversal.​​​​​​​

Project Objectives 

Using the Modo platform technology, Nimbl was customized with NBCUniversal Branding throughout the user experience. The app serves as a global mobile solution for employees and visitors, providing access to location-based services and tools. Our design objective was to enhance user experience by delivering personalized content and services tailored to individual needs. Employees can access their Employee Profile, Performance Management System, Learning Management System, IT Appointments Center, Condeco Book Rooms platform, Location Maps & Amenities, and Campus Lunch Menus. Nimbl integrates multiple employee systems into a single platform, improving the overall NBCU employee experience.

A style guide was developed to allow NBCUniversal networks, such as Golf and Telemundo, to customize their employee user experience by incorporating their own branding.

UX Research

Some examples of the UX research methods I used included gathering Quantitative and Qualitative data using Survey Monkey for online polls and coordinating interviews with key stakeholders and employees. I also coordinated design sprint sessions with our Digital team using the data that was collected as a launchpad for new feature ideas. Another brainstorming session helped to guide our Employee Experience Mapping. Company Personas were also clearly defined based off of our research data.
